First annual June Jam river festival
Upper Tennessee River Roundtable will hold its first Clinch River Festival Fundraiser at Natural Tunnel State Park on Saturday, June 14. The Festival, which is part of the park’s annual “Get Outside Day,” will begin at 1 p.m. with music, vendors, environmental education activities and river race registration. The festivities, which will run until 8.p.m., include live music by many local bands, a five-mile river race on the Clinch, fun environmental education activities for kids, fly fishing demonstration, casting competition and more.
The festival will take place at the amphitheater and food, beer, and outdoor gear vendors will be present throughout the day. Entry price is $5 for adults and children under 12 will be admitted for free. Registration for the race is $15 and includes entry to the festival.

Race Details:
The River Race will take place between Hills Station and Clinchport on the Clinch River and will be approximately five miles long. (See map) Both canoes and kayaks will be allowed in the race.

Online pre-registration is required for all race participants. The entry cost is $15 and includes entry into the main festival. Check in for the race will begin at 1 p.m. at the amphitheater parking lot, and the race will start from Hills Station at 2:30 p.m. Race winners from each bracket will receive an award and will be entered into a drawing for the Grand Prize. Grand Prize drawing will occur during the set break for the last band at approximately 6 p.m.
We are open to creating other categories if there is enough interest– IE solo canoe and tandem kayak- please contact [email protected] if you are interested in helping organize another category.
Limited shuttle assistance is being generously provided by Clinch River Adventures. This will be on a first come first serve basis. River racers are also welcome to set their own shuttle for the race. The event coordinator (who is a seasoned river runner) will be working to create a smooth pre and post-race experience for all participants. Please check one of the boxes on the pre-registration form about shuttle assistance.
