Southwest Virginia Regional Recycling and Solid Waste Working Group

​Concerned about a loss of recycling markets, Keep Southwest Virginia Beautiful called a meeting in 2018 of government officials to discuss the possibility of working regionally. A large turnout signified a big interest in finding replacement markets. Over time, these individuals formed a working group, developed bylaws, elected officers, and collaborated about markets. 

Most recently, the group toured the recycling facility in Sullivan County. The group has heard from many recycling ventures over the years, although the Sullivan County option may prove to be feasible for Southwest Virginia. 

This group continues to meet monthly through Zoom.
