Virginia Council for Litter Prevention and Recycling
The Virginia Council for Litter Prevention and Recycling is a membership organization operating within the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Council is governed by an Executive Board that's comprised of representatives of local litter and recycling programs of the 21 Planning Districts in the Commonwealth.
Litter control and recycling programs within each Planning District collectively select representatives to serve on the Executive Board. This board meets periodically to consider pending issues. Between meetings, the secretary disseminates information to the Executive Board members who relay details to all localities within their Planning Districts. The council also hosts a ListServ to keep members connected. This information network provides a way for litter control and recycling program managers to share ideas and concerns.
Our mission: "The Council shall advise and support the needs of the litter prevention and recycling programs within the Commonwealth of Virginia."
Are you a new program manager? If so, contact the Planning District representative in your area to obtain information to help you get started. A list of representatives can be found under "Coordinators."
